For this project, I solicited writing from young people who were affiliated with the Alternative High School for Santa Fe Public Schools in Santa Fe.

Next, I curated these writings into pen pal letters and, using a variety of networks, solicited responses from the community.

The intent of this project was to examine the idea of compassion as a resource that exists beyond the barriers of class and cul­ture as well as to add to our complex understanding of our ‘local’.
