The Letters Program | 2012- present

The Letters Program is a series of letters projects written to humans and non-humans to map, share and critically reflect on our social realities and to offer opportunities for the hidden to be seen and recognized.

Beyond this, the main focus of The Letters Program is encouraging dialogue to promote what French philosopher Emmanuel Levinas called an ‘encounter’ with the other.

Each of the projects encourages collaborative authorship and dialogue where, according to Levinas, the inescapable experience of the other is the founding of selfhood and a prerequisite for action.

This series holds as possibility the continued development of internal reality and an openness to all others rather than suspiciousness and apprehension.
