The Coe Center, dedicated to increasing public awareness, education, and appreciation of indigenous arts, emphasizing hands-on experience and learning through actively engaging art, invites mestizaje artist Paula Castillo to discuss and show several Athabasca works in relation to works by modern Navajo and Apache peoples.
Castillo collaborates with Coe Center Head Curator Alex Peña and the University of Alaska Museum of the North, Fairbanks, AK, to engage with artifacts that reveal how Athabaskan migrants shaped the course of New Mexico’s histories in the years before the arrival of the Spanish.
